Kantine de la résonance

Gesucht werden Künstler*Innen, die Werke erschaffen wollen,
welche die Bieler Bevölkerung direkt ansprechen und zwei Wochen im Schlachthof Biel zu sehen sein werden (31.08.2024- 14.09.2024).
Die Werke können raumspezifisch sein und dürfen auf vorhandenen Werken
basieren. Es stehen vielfältige Möglichkeiten offen:
Die Werke können die Bieler Bevölkerung involvieren oder sich mit Themen
auseinandersetzen, die in der Stadt von Relevanz sind. Als Denkanstoss schlagen wir folgende Themen vor:
Uhrenindustrie, Röstigraben, Zweisprachigkeit, Mehrsprachigkeit, Geschichte
Biel, Integration in Biel. Die Projekte können auch nicht benannte Themen
behandeln.
Die Künstler*innen bekommen 500 CHF Produktionsgeld und 500 CHF Honorar.
Wir erwarten eine Kostenberechnung von den Projektvorschlägen.

Der Schlachthof Biel ist ein historisches Gebäude, das seit August 2023 unter
Denkmalschutz steht. Der Schlachthof verfügt über Wohnräumlichkeiten,
betriebliche Aufbewahrungsräume und ein Kulturzentrum, das sich in der alten
Kantine des Schlachthofs befindet.
Die Kantine, die Aussenwände und der Aussenplatz des Schlachthofs stehen dem Verein Papillarya für die Dauer von zwei Wochen zur Verfügung.

We are looking for artists who want to create works that directly engage the
population of Biel and will be on display for two weeks at the Biel Schlachthof
(31.08.2024 - 14.09.2024).
The works can be site-specific and may be based on
existing works. There are many possibilities: the works can involve the people of
Biel or address topics relevant to the city.
As a suggestion, we propose the following themes:
watch industry, Röstigraben, bilingualism, multilingualism,
history of Biel, integration in Biel.
Projects can also address unnamed topics.
Artists will receive 500 CHF for production and a 500 CHF fee for participation.
We expect a budget calculation with the project proposals.

The Biel Schlachthof is a historic building that has been under monument
protection since August 2023. The Schlachthof features residential spaces,
operational storage rooms, and a cultural center located in the old canteen of the
slaughterhouse.
The canteen, the exterior walls, and the outside area of the
slaughterhouse are available to the Papillarya collective for a duration of two
weeks.
